An amazing night travelling and hiking across Dartmoor by moonlight.
Initially it was Daves idea and his mad crazy thought, but it makes perfect sense and is so much fun.
Nuns Cross Farm by moonlight not far from Princetown, Dartmoor National Park, Devon.

Hmm... maybe I should move to Dartmoor. The scenery is so breathtakingly beautiful - or at least: you manage to photograph it so beautifully, Mark! Those stars come out so brightly. Hard to capture that! Do I see Orion there?

There are actually quite a few groups who do night hiking on Dartmoor, and not just in full moon, I have bumped into a couple before when heading back from a sunset as they headed out.

This is a very strong composition and I think the night sky and the moonlight enhances it. Other shots ou have taken in moonlight are in my opinion not so great, the light is harsh and the colours dull as if to say "this shot is better than one taken in the day purely because it is nightime". Well done for getting out at night, it works brilliant here, but not always.

Well shooting under the moon is light shooting under the sun. Its an exqually harsh lighting condition. The main difference is that you can underexpose and get away with it! For that reason I dont think there are many occasions when a shot will benefit from being shot in the darkness. It is that I beleive, not any apparent difficulty in getting these shots, that stops top landscape photogrpahers (david excluded) from trying it on a more regular basis.

lol, I just said that the idea doesnt particularly inspire me! I would be glad to go on a shoot with you though, but it may be a challenge before the summer, this is my final masters year and I really have to pull something out the bag!
